The first leg of the 2025/26 UEFA Europa League quarterfinals took place, with Aston Villa defeating Bologna 3-1 away from home thanks to goals from Konsa and Watkins.

In the 78th minute, Bologna's attack was cleared, and Bernardeschi received the ball and shot, but the ball hit the post.
In the 79th minute, Bologna continued their attack. Bernardeschi headed the ball across, and Santiago Castro's shot from the penalty area was blocked. In the 90th minute, John Lucoumi passed the ball to Jonathan Rowe, who followed up and curled a shot into the net, helping Bologna pull one back to 2-1.
In stoppage time of the second half, Tielemans took a corner kick, and Watkins fired a low shot into the net, helping Aston Villa extend their lead to 3-1.
Aston Villa ultimately defeated Bologna 3-1 away from home.
