The 2025/26 Premier League season will conclude with the final round of matches, as Liverpool will host Brentford at Anfield. This will be Egyptian star Mohamed Salah's last appearance for Liverpool. Salah expressed his gratitude for the fans' love and support, stating that he will always support Liverpool.
The 34-year-old Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 and has helped the "Reds" win two Premier League titles, one Champions League title, one European Super Cup title, one Club World Cup title, one FA Cup title and one League Cup title in his long nine years. He has also won the Premier League Golden Boot four times.
Salah has now made 441 appearances for Liverpool and scored 257 goals.
In an interview, the 33-year-old Salah said, "Everything about Liverpool means a lot to me. Living in this club and feeling the love and recognition from the fans is the most important thing. People recognize everything you do and the effort you put in for them and for yourself."
“This is all very special, and I feel very lucky. Not many people have the opportunity to work here for nine years and maintain the performance I have, or to truly enjoy and experience the journey I have taken. So it is a blessing, and I will never take it for granted.”
Salah continued, "This club means everything, including everyone here and everything in this city. I will always love this club and always support Liverpool. My children will always support Liverpool, and even when I tell them that we are leaving Liverpool, they say that even if I leave, they will still support Liverpool."
It is worth mentioning that Salah contributed 44 goals for Liverpool in the 2017/18 season, winning the support of fans with his outstanding performance.
Recalling that journey, Salah shared, "I had just won the Golden Boot and was taking photos, heading back to the locker room. Then my daughter, Maka, picked up the ball and kicked it into the stands. It was a very special moment for me, and I believe it was for her too. She's grown up now, and in the future, when she looks back, she will definitely remember the love and applause the fans gave her."
“It was really special to see this, and I was so proud to see my daughter score here. I even joked with Ekitic before that my daughter had scored more goals here than him before he did.”
Salah also said, "As a father, it means a lot to me to feel the fans' love for my family. I think it's also a way for everyone to express their gratitude for my efforts over the years."
On the other hand, Liverpool are currently 5th in the standings with 59 points, 3 points behind 4th-placed Aston Villa, so Sloot's team must beat Brentford to hold onto a Champions League spot.
